Arsutoria Performance Footwear workshop

In May 2025, I attended Arsutoria’s Professional Development for Performance Footwear Workshop in Portland, Oregon. There, we learned how to strobel stitch, last, and cement a sole—building a shoe from start to finish. Experiencing each step firsthand gave me a clearer understanding of the challenges involved in turning a sketch into taping, paper patterns, prototypes, and eventually mass production. This process helps me design with a more practical mindset, considering performance, material costs, production labor, and overall efficiency from the beginning.
